Find the "middle -aged treasure"
With childhood, many changes and years of studying at Ewha Women's University, Jang Myung-soook, born in 1952, have been interested in colorful fashion. After graduating, she continued to study in Milan and became the first Korean graduated from Marangoni Academy - one of the most famous schools in the world.
Her career path is spread from the fashion consultancy position for magazines and large corporations such as Samsung, as a fashion teacher at many famous Korean universities. All have contributed to creating her reputation and influence in the fashion industry.
When the child was so energetic, but after time passed, no one could hold on to the youth. One day, when looking at herself in the mirror, Jang realized the signs of her age.It was when she, like many other elderly people, began to feel lack of confidence in her appearance.
She shared that she had been sad when she saw a melancholy face, lack of vitality, like many people of her age.
"The old woman, dumbfounded eyes, sad face, and all this tired person? Is it me?"That was the question that Jang had herself when she saw the image reflected through the glass door.Since then, she is determined to change her life.
Incidentally, she read an article advised: "Laugh not only when fun, but laugh to feel happy."Laughing can even help reduce wrinkles and prevent memory impairment.
Indeed, modern science has proven that smile is a "medicine" to help young people longer and healthier.A study in Norway shows that people who have a sense of humor, or laugh, often live longer than those who have less smiles in life.In particular, for cancer patients, maintaining optimism and often laughing can help them increase their energy, improve their spirit during treatment.
Laughter not only enhances the immune system, improves mood, but also relieves pain and minimizes the impact of stress, helps you relax, focus and be more forgiven. Thanks to the ability to reduce the burden and create a connection with others, laughter brings incredible healing power to both physical and emotional health.
Awakened by this meaning, Ms. Jang, created the habit of smiling at the mirror every morning and evening, even when depressed or tired.
She always told herself, "I am happy, I deserve happiness and I want to be happy."
Since then, Ms. Jang has told herself to smile at herself every day in the mirror, as a mental way.
The saying "smile brings good luck" of Korea or "a smile with ten tonic ladders" of Vietnam emphasizes the benefits of smiles. No cost or effort, smiles not only bring a friendly feeling to people around but also a key to live longer, younger and healthier.
U70 continues to work, financially and mentally independent
In 2019, at the age of 67, Jang was proposed by a student to create a YouTube channel with the idea of sharing about fashion, life and cultural stories that she has accumulated over the years. At first, she was somewhat afraid, saying that YouTube was not suitable for an elderly person like her.She even felt confused by the terms "Hauls" (shopping) or "unboxing" (open boxes) - very popular content of young Youtuber.
However, students have suggested that she can build content related to fashion, such as finding costumes with the same style as luxury brands but at affordable prices..This is a creative way to bring high -end fashion closer to the masses.
And so, in August 2019, under the hot heat in Seoul, she recorded her first video at a popular fashion store, comparing costumes with designs of leading brands. The production team and the audience all warmly received her true sharing style.YouTube channel "Milanonna" (roughly translated: "Grandma from Milan") was born from there.
"Milanonna" quickly received the love from many fans, especially young people. They cherish Jang's frank and simpleness when she shared about her unimaginable life, from her father's 80 -year -old shirt to family heirloom items.
It was this natural and unknown that helped her channel quickly reach the number of ten thousand followers after only a few videos, even received a silver badge from YouTube.Positive feedback like "she helped me to be less fear when thinking of old age" or "I wished I knew her earlier" that made Jang feel that she had chosen the right choice.
Sharing with the media, Ms. Jang said: "If anything you want to try, boldly start doing without hesitation. Be courageous to face yourself and your favorite things."
Through the story, Jang not only becomes a fashion icon but also the inspiration for those who are looking for confidence and joy at all ages.
